The cruelty and the twisted views of “handling” sexual assaults and abuses by these self proclaimed religious leaders are so grotesque and soul crushing. The continual cost of survivors to try to find accountability and to try to warn others, to attempt to change a system that rebuts changes for basic human decency while constantly decrying “leftist agenda” against the very things God Himself requires as to treatment of others. It’s the largest mind game (as a nice word). Abuse is never in Gods above reproach mandates and He never requires these “men” to bulldoze others to “protect the church” or to squash the brokenhearted and harmed in order to elevate an abuser for further ministry.

But they and all of their followers refuse to see such basic facts, refuse to see the planks that have become permanent in their eyes. Evil does that, they become it.

I’ve been so sick over this “error” and spent that weekend of this happening with a migraine and remembering all of the evil and the damage this man and those alongside him who did nothing for all of these decades to so many who just wanted to protect others by reporting their abuses, we all have paid such high prices for doing what is actually right. They are beloved and we are run over again and again. Often feels hopeless

I’m thankful you posted this story
